Obituary of Wayne Boughen
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the unexpected death of Wayne Boughen, 69, at St. Mary's General Hospital in Kitchener on Monday, July 8, 2013, surrounded by loving family.
Beloved father of Shaun, Sarah, Elissa and Brett. Survived by loving partner Barbara Richmond and stepchildren Amber Richmond (Josh Williams) and Scott Richmond. Grandpa to Emily, Noah, Gabriel, Sky and Kohana and Poppa to Callum and Ewan. Also survived by Elizabeth Boughen, mother to his four children.
Wayne lived a full and colourful life and will be sadly missed by a vast array of colourful characters. He loved good food, good music, watching and playing golf, driving trucks, sitting on the dock with a cocktail, bbq'ing and telling endless stories about his life's adventures, whether it be about canoe trips in Algonquin Park or snowmobiling down Lake of Bays. A born salesman and optimist, Wayne was curious about everything and everyone, everywhere he went.
Celebration of Wayne's life to be held Sunday, July 14, 2013 on Lake of Bays. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
Wayne believed in the Neil Young adage, "it's better to burn out than it is to rust", and he lived his life accordingly. May be rest in peace.
