I had the privilege of working with Neil in Kitchener detectives 11 years ago. He was a very meticulous investigator and I learned alot from him. I enjoyed his company and he had many great stories to share. It's with great sadness that I learned of Neil's death. I know that Neil will be one of those shining stars in the sky at night, watching over all of his fellow police officers and the ones that he loved. RIP my friend.

Neil was painstakenly meticulous at everything he did. He was the consumate professional and a model that many of us can always strive to attain. You will be missed by many my friend and never forgotten. Rest in Peace.

Long after the sun goes down, you'll be the light to guide our way. Long after this fog has lifted, you'll be the sunshine through our days. After all our memories have found a voice, and our sorrow finds its peace. After all our tears turn into smiles, our pain will start to ease. After all your words wash through our hearts, we'll be left to feel your love. After all your strength blankets our home, we'll look to you in skies above. Long after our thoughts have gone to sleep, your face will come to mind. Long after the days keep passing by, your spirit is what we'll find. We love you and miss you dad, Matthew and Stacey

I have read some beautiful memories of Neil, he meant the world to so many and I am no exception. I had the pleasure of meeting him and becoming fast friends ten years ago when I lost my heart to his only son Matthew. I realized not many years later how easy both men were to love. Neil was one of my biggest supporters in life and taught me endless lessons in humility, honesty, integrity and patience. Always reminding me I get out of life what I put in. We spoke more often then most, and he joked about how he thought I called so often just to hear his voice but really hours on the phone every second or third day was just simply our thing, something we'd both looked forward to and enjoyed. He's had a profound effect on my life and the lives of my kids Rob and Ronna whom will love and miss him as much as I will. He shared many qualities with them, with the four of us and he was adored beyond measure. Neil you were pretty certain I shared something very rare and special in life with your son Matthew therefore supporting us effortlessly. I shared something pretty unique and special with you as well, my promise to you was to always treasure your faith in me, to honor you and I want to thank you for being my constant and loving me, loving us through life's journey. I love you, we love you xox

Each of us have our special memories with you separately, but the one thing we all share is our love and respect for you. We have learned so much from you and will do our best to walk through life with honor as you did. Being close to you was our privilege, your love, patience, understanding and support was endless. You were an amazing father as well as friend to myself, Stacey and our family, and we will draw strength from what you mean to us. May all our family find peace in your memories and love, we will miss and love you always always.

To my Uncle Neil,
Words can not do justice to explain just how great a man you were, yet I feel some needed to be said. You were smart, witty, respected, kind, and a true definition of a gentleman. You had a heart of gold and will be missed by myself and so many others. You have left us too early and I am left to regret we don't have more time to spend together. We all hold you close in our hearts and it is there you will remain. We will lovingly remember you always. I am truly honoured to be your nephew.

We shared a few laughs during my years in dispatch and I will never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends. May you find comfort knowing just how many lives Neil has touched over the years and what an impact he made on each one of us.

Neil, it is always hard to put one's feelings into only a few short words, but it has been said that the way a person will be remembered is not by what he accomplished in life, but by the way he made others feel. My family and I will always have fond memories of sharing Thanks Giving or Christmas dinners with you at our table. My daughter still talks of the lesson that the story of 'The White Dragon' taught and time he showed up at her Birthday Party. I will always remember the time we worked together, and 'getting the work done'. You were a highly respected office, and I considered you to be my friend…you will be missed!

Neil - I have always said you are the definition of a true gentleman; you are chivalrous, sensitive, compassionate, loving, caring, trusting - the list is neverending when it comes to you. We have experienced good and hard times together - talked about our inner-most feelings to each other, spent time going out or just visiting at home and for someone that wasn't a "phone person", my ears were always beet red after the hours we would spend on the phone talking! I will miss playing our "vocabulary game". Adam and Erik absolutely loved "their Neil": they loved seeing, spending time with you and were always intrigued with your many interesting stories you would tell. So many moments we have had together and can only mention a few or this would be really long! I will always be so grateful for all the time we have had together. I was truly blessed with having YOU in MY life as such a close friend. We all love you so very much. We will talk again soon, my friend.

Like many, Neil was a mentor to me while I was in patrol. Then later as a partner in Detectives. He never missed an opportunity to share his knowledge and experience but always in a respectful way. You made many young officers into fine ones with your willingness to share your wealth of knowledge. You are a very well respected man. Heaven is a lucky place to have such a man. Im sure heaven will use your "scroll like" beautiful hand writing to their advantage. :)

Condolences to the family. Neil was my partner for many years in both Detectives and the Homicide Branch. There was no-one more dedicated and hard working then Neil. You told me once that you could count your true friends on one hand. The ones that would be there through thick and thin and always have your back. You took up a lot of real estate on my hand my friend. You are the true definition of a gentleman and all those that had the privilege of knowing you were better for it.
