While an undergrad at U of Waterloo, I would sometimes visit my Aunt Rhoda. It would seem that the appetites of my friends and I were a bit larger than she was used to, with her three daughters. One day, as it turns out, I was to show up at their house and wait for them to have lunch. Well that seemed like a good deal to "starving" student so I happily arrived, let myself in and, to my surprise, found the fridge door secured against unauthorized opening by the thickest rope I had ever seen, and a lock to match! There was to be no ransacking of the food that day! I'm sure Aunt Rhoda had a lot of fun securing the fridge and I'm sure the look on my face was priceless. The reality was that we always felt very welcome and well taken card of when visiting the Hanns, even though she let it slip from time to time that she always had to buy extra supplies when the nephews were coming for a visit. Great memories.
