Obituary of Ruth Mielke
Passed away peacefully, at Twin Oaks of Maryhill, on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the age of 91.
Ruth is survived by her children, Susan (Reinhold) Seibel, Ken (Wendy) Mielke all of Kitchener, Doug (Nicolette) of California; her grandchildren, David Seibel, Katie Albers, Jay Mielke, Jenna Kerr, Brett Mielke, Samantha Mielke; and great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Albers, Eden Albers, Ethan Albers, and McKinley Kerr.
Predeceased by her husband, Stuart Mielke; and parents, Frederick and Minnie (Bolender) Martin.
Ruth was born in Kitchener on March 9, 1922 and attended Kitchener Collegiate Institute. Her childhood friendships grew and have continued for over 80 years. Her group of friends were affectionately known as the "Gang". Ruth was an active member of Trinity United Church where she participated in the mother's auxiliary for the cub/scout group and enjoyed the quilting group. She especially enjoyed going to Grand Bend with her family. Ruth had many roles in her life as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and caregiver for her mother. She is already sadly missed by her family and friends.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Ruth with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday, December 30, 2013 from 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 from 10-10:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday with Rev. Jack Paleczny officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. A private family interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
