Obituary of Leslie Miller
MILLER, Leslie Laverne
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Leslie Miller, a longtime resident of St. Jacobs, at Chateau Gardens, Elmira on Wednesday, January 1, 2014. He was in his 85th year.
Leslie will be reunited, in eternity, with the love of his life, "Em" Earla Emmaline (McVeigh) Miller who predeceased him in 1992. Leslie was the loving father of Cindy (Gary) Moser of Wasaga, Laverne Miller of Waterloo, Caroline (Stan) Goodmurphy of Bruce Mines, Marg (Ken) Schmidt of Kitchener, Darlene (Joe) Wickens of Kitchener, Dianne (Joe) Parker of Thessalon, and Dwayne (Lesley) Miller of Waterloo. Proud grandfather of 19 grandchildren Todd (Melanie), Craig (Shellee) and Jody (Lori) Moser, Mark, Shane and Tanya (Shaun) Miller, Scott (Tsuyako) MacDonald, Trevor (Savannah) Seabrook, Kerry (Jason) Howson, Bob (Leanne) and Darrell (Jennie) Schmidt, Katie (Patrick) Wickens, Jason (Tricia) and Tyler Parker, Sam Sharpe, Meghan, Josh and Carly Miller. Leslie was also a proud great- grandfather to 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Leslie is survived by his brother John (Mae) Miller of Elmira. Leslie will be missed by his brothers-in-law Doug (Judy) McVeigh, Richard Shanks, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his parents, Alonso and Violet Miller; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Helen and Firman (Marty) Martin, Edna and Maynard Lewis, and Margaret Shanks.
Dad was first and foremost a proud family man. Dad was a man of few words; so, when he spoke everyone knew they should pay attention. He was an avid car enthusiast and could often be found working on his latest "jalopy". His greatest enjoyment was sitting back, watching the goings-on and just taking it all in. He will be greatly missed.
Leslie's family will receive family and friends from 12-1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 8th at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo with burial at Parkview Cemetery to follow. A reception will be held at the funeral home from 3-5 p.m.
If ordering flowers, please consider a planter arrangement so a living remembrance may be preserved.
Condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Mental Health, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association may be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-
