Obituary of Elizabeth Kieswetter
Elsie passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Studios, Kitchener on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the age of 87.
Predeceased by her loving husband Francis (Frank) who passed away in 2012. They were married in 1947.
Elsie is survived by her sons Richard (Linda) of New Hamburg, Gary (Deb) of Waterloo and Dennis of Calgary.
Grandma will be remembered fondly by grand-children Kevin (Dee) Kieswetter of Waterloo, Brian Kieswetter of Mississauga, Lori Kieswetter of Guelph, Stephen (Stephanie) Kieswetter of Ottawa, Michael and Amanda Kieswetter of Calgary, Bryan (Amy) Thompson of Waterloo and Rob (Jodi) Thompson of Fort McMurray.
Elsie will also be missed by great grand-children Madison, Mason, Meghan, Zoe, Grace and Holly, by her brother Frank (Joan) Rymarchuk of New Brunswick and her sister-in-law Marlene Kieswetter of Waterloo and Susan Kieswetter of Calgary along with many nieces and nephews. Godmother to Gerald (Maria) Kieswetter of Keswick. Elsie was predeceased by her parents Nicholas and Christina Rymarchuk, brother Joseph Rymarchuk and her brother-in-law William Kieswetter.
Elsie was born in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba and moved to Preston, Ontario during WW 11 to work at Merchants Rubber factory. Following her marriage to Frank and the birth of her sons, Elsie changed careers and became a full time mother and managed the home. Later Elsie went back to work at Marsland Engineering. Elsie enjoyed spending time with family and friends and playing Mrs Claus at every family Christmas function. Elsie enjoyed gardening, playing cards and curling and skipped a ladies team to an 8 ender. During retirement years, Elsie and Frank enjoyed winters in Florida and summers at their Sauble Falls cottage. Elsie and Frank were avid Blue Jay fans, even travelling on road trips with the Blue Jay fan club. Elsie was also a long standing member of the Ladies Auxiliary of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 530 and a member of St. Michael's R.C. Church in Waterloo also serving on that Ladies Auxiliary. Special thanks to management, nurses and staff of Trinity Village Studios for their care and friendship.
The Kieswetter family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday January 10, 2014 at 11 am at St. Michael's R.C. Church, 240 Hemlock Street, Waterloo (Across from Laurier University). Cremation will follow and a family internment will occur at a later date.
