Obituary of Norman Meyer
Norman Meyer of St. Clements passed away peacefully, in the presence of family, on Sunday, January 19, 2014, at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener. He was in his 91st year.
Beloved husband of the late Evelyn (2011) his wife of 61 years. Loving father of Dave (Anna), Randy (Gail), Brenda Stewart (Paul), Paula Gagne (Bob), Phillip (Mary Lou), Barb Richards (John), Gayle Couture, Mark, and Mike (Carollee). He was the much loved Grandpa to 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his son, Bob, in 1971. Normie was the last surviving member of his family. Predeceased by his parents Otto and Elizabeth (Freiberger), his brothers Robert, Ralf, and Alexander, and his sisters Priscilla Knight, Gertrude Fritz, Dorothy Watchorn, and Violet Fritz.
Normie was a long-time employee of Forwell Sand & Gravel. He also served with the Volunteer Firefighters of St. Clements. An avid card player and hockey fan, Normie enjoyed spending time with the "Friday Night Boys" at the Heidelberg Hotel.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Normie with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo, on Wednesday, January 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish prayers at 4:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clements R.C. Church, St. Clements on Thursday, January 23 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. J. Martin Mikulski S.A.C. as Celebrant. Interment will take place in the spring, at the St. Clements R.C. Cemetery.
