Obituary of Teresa Zangari

Surrounded by her family, Teresa passed away peacefully on January 22, 2014 at the age of 87. Teresa joins her beloved husband of 63 years, Nicola, who passed away in 2011. Teresa was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Ken Davies, Caterina and Mark Lindman, and Michelina and Paul Williamson. Loving Nonna to Lauren (Duc), Nicholas, Derek, Amy (Ben), Nora (Colton), Teresa, Matthew, and Victoria. Great-Nonna to Joseph. Dear sister of Ida Lagonia (Victor), Maria Mastrogiovanni (Pino), and Ninni Cimino (Jeso). Cherished sister-in-law of Mario Lagonia, Gina Levato, Anna Lagonia, Teresa Palaia and Grazia Zangari. Predeceased by her parents Tommasino and Michelina, her sister Rosa Lagonia, her brothers Antonio and Joseph Levato, and brother-in-law Alfredo Zangaro (Rosa). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. As the eldest of the Levato children, Teresa began caring for her brothers and sisters at a young age. She helped four of her siblings immigrate to Canada from Italy and remained devoted to her family throughout her life. She is remembered as a strong, hard-working, and faithful woman. She belonged to the Catholic Women's League at St. Thomas More Parish in Niagara Falls for over 50 years and joyfully volunteered at Dorchester Manor throughout her retirement. The Zangari family welcomes relatives and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, January 24th from 2-4 pm, and from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6548 Dorchester Rd., Niagara Falls on Saturday, January 25th at 11 am. The burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery.
