Obituary of Dolores Michael

Dolores (Mitzi) died on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Grand River Hospital at the age of 81. Loving wife of David J. Michael for 60 years. Mother of Diane of Fairport NY, Donna of Kitchener, David (Bradley) (Marilyn) of Waterloo, Dwayne (Marilee) of London, Dolores (Dede) Wells (Jim) of Newmarket, Darren (Judy) of New Hamburg. She will be greatly missed by her 16 grandchildren, Sarah, Michael (Cody Anne), Adam (Julie), Grady, Tyler (Lisa), Laura, David, Jessica, Cody, Andrew, Bradley, Connor, Hayley, Allie, Melissa (Josh) and Stephen. Great-grandmother of Emory. Mitzi was predeceased by grandson Shaun David Michael and her parents Gordon and Dolores Dalton. She will also be missed by her sister Pat Nezny and her brother Ron Dalton. Mitzi was a dynamic figure on the WLU campus for many years. She started her career there at the bookstore in 1971 and retired from the athletic department in 1995. During that time she was President of the Staff Association, An Honorary Alumnus, received the Unsung Hero Award and was inducted into the WLU Hall of Fame. Mitzi had a positive impact on many WLU students. Those who had the pleasure of knowing or meeting Mitzi were blessed by her quick smile and engaging wit. Mitzi also enjoyed her many lunches with the Red Hat Society. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Mitzi during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, February 7, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. A private family service will be held.
