Obituary of Birute Petrusaitis
Petrusaitis, Birute "Betty" (nee Jasineviciute)
Passed away on March 4, 2014 at Lisaard House, Cambridge. Born October 28, 1928 in Lithuania. Beloved mother of son, David, and daughter, Lisa (Jamie Reaume). Predeceased by her husband, Leonard Petrusaitis in 1999. Sadly missed by family in Canada, the United States, and in her native Lithuania. Betty had a lengthy managerial career at Bell Canada, from which she eventually took an early retirement and proceeded to spend her twilight years in Kimberley and later returning to the K-W area. She was also a long-time volunteer with the K-W Humane Society and her love of animals was always there, whether it was with her adopted pets of Tia and Taffy or the continual need to ensure her bird feeders were filled everyday - even if only to keep the squirrels happy.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Betty with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday March 7, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 p.m. Visiting will continue at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 240 Hemlock St., Waterloo, on Saturday March 8, 2014 at 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Cornelius J. O'Mahony as Celebrant. Reception will then be held in the church hall. Interment will follow at St. John's Lithuanian Cemetery, 2185 Stavebank Road, Mississauga.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House, the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, or the K-W Humane Society would be appreciated by the family and may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
Rest in peace "mamyte" (mother) and "mociute" (grandmother). You will be missed by all who knew and loved you.
