Obituary of Patricia Neuert
Passed away at K-W Grand River Hospital on Friday March 7, 2014 at the age of 81.
Survived by sister Maureen Dohnt and her husband Edward of California and their daughters Lisa, Shelly, and Carrie and their families; and by the family of brother Tony Horton: sister-in-law Violet, nephews Mark and Timothy, nieces Lynn, Joan, and Lesley and their families.
Predeceased by her husband Ward (1982), mother Agnes Horton (1999), father Sydney Horton (1973) and brother Tony Horton (1986).
Pat was one of the early beneficiaries of the development of insulin. Diagnosed as diabetic at the age of eight, Pat spent many childhood months at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Children. Discipline and a strong will allowed her to lead a long and full life despite her physical limitations, and to overcome the early loss of her beloved husband Ward. Pat's loving attention to her mother helped Agnes live to celebrate her hundredth birthday. Aunt Pat was a great favourite with her nieces and nephews who called and visited regularly. Pat also counted herself fortunate for the steadfast friendship of Joyce MacCallum and Amelia Sennik, as well as Peter Brennan and Amy Lo Bosco.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes Street, Waterloo on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 11:00 am with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
