The Heldman Family:
Very sorry I wasn't able to make the visitation or funeral this week.
As you know I had many of great times with Lorne on and off the golf course. He was a great man.
The thing I will remember the most was his good nature and always having time for everyone.
I often think back to having a pint with Lorne after work and remember all the laughs and we had lots!
My thoughts are with the family. Please take comfort in knowing I like many others will not forget him.

Heldman Family;
I'm so sorry for your loss, Lornie will surely be missed by a lot of people. I feel lucky to have gotten to know Lorne over the years at Foxwood. I have a ton of great memories of him. I will never forget his reaction to finding his and Tommy's bed pushed together in the room they shared in Florida! Lornie always had a kind word (or more likely a smart remark) for his friends at Foxwood, we'll miss you Coach!

I have very fond memories of Lorne at the golf course and many more at the hockey rink. Lorne always made a point of saying hi and of course asking if Steve was 'actually working'. Such a great sense of humour. Sending my condolences to you Steve, Nancy and your family.

Dear Steve, Brian, Kevin & Kim.
Our heartfelt sympathy to you and your families. We were neighbours for 49 years. This past summer we moved to an apt.
We have many fond memories of your mom & dad and you kids playing on Hillcrest. Your dad spent many nights making ice or removing snow from the rink.
We winter in Florida and unfortunately will miss paying our last respects to your dad.
Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Lorne will be missed. Bob remembers him taking him under his wing when he first started as a ref. They had many coffees at the Harmony Lunch and a few beers at Morty's when he picked up the toys for the Knight toy drive. He will be missed. Remember all the great times you spent together.

The Heldman Family,
SO SORRY to hear of the sudden passing of 'Lornie'--He was a very close and dear friend of mine and the whole Maue family. Lornie was a truly fun and loving person to be around, he would do anything for you and was as sincere and genuine as they come. During the Golf season, whether it was @ Foxwood or on the road, I spent many days & nights with him that felt like a week! He never minded when you bought him a beer or TWO either...
To say that WE are going to miss him is an understatement--Lornie is one of the few of that generation who will never be replaced!
May the Good Lord give your family the love and strength to get through a trying time.
Danny Maue

Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Lorne. Our memories of Lorne and his kindness and love for all children and sports go back over 50 years to the many many years that he helped to build and maintain the ice rink at Our Lady of Lourdes. To the delight of so many of us his hard work allowed us endless hours of fun playing hockey and figure skating. His dedication to this venture was honourable and bone chilling at the worst of times, flooding and shovelling in the fridgid cold. But that never stopped Lorne from giving the neighbourhood children a venue to play sports on all winter. May he rest in peace, his work is done. Thank you Lorne for all the fun times!

Dear Steven, Brian, Kim and Kevin,
It was with sadness that I heard of the passing of your dear Dad. We have been neighbours for a long time, and I have enjoyed my friendship with your Dad.over the years, from a child to an adult. He was always one to take the first initiative in speaking, as his outgoing and caring personality made it easy for him. I know he had many interests, but one of them was always his faith. He and your Mom were faithful parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes, and often we met each other on the school yard coming from, or going to, Mass. That is where I most saw him over these last years, at funerals of neighbours. He is really the last of the 'original' neighbours of our street to join the block party in heaven, where many will be waiting for him. May our faith in the resurrection and eternal life give you all consolation and peace. God bless you and your families!
