Obituary of Alfred Zimmermann

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Columbia Forest LTC, Waterloo in his 88th year. Predeceased by parents Werner Zimmermann and Rose Heller. Loving husband of Dollie Zimmermann. Beloved father of Mary Ann Willett (Dean), David Zimmermann (Annette) and Dan Zimmermann (Theresa); cherished grandfather of Josh, Kristie, Lindsay, Emily and Tiffany. Fondly remembered by three great-grandchildren, sisters Ruth and Esther and brother Bernard. Fred was born in Bern, Switzerland and immigrated to Canada where he attended Bible School for one year in Toronto. He continued his biblical studies at Emmaus Bible College in Chicago, where he met his beloved wife Dollie, with whom he enjoyed 60 years of marriage. Fred spent his professional career teaching languages to high-school and college students. Fred’s true passion was knowing his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. In Fred’s later years he enjoyed attending services at Heidelberg Bible Fellowship where he was a member for a number of years. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Columbia Forest LTC for their compassion and excellent care of Fred over the past two years. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Fred with his family during visitation at Heidelberg Bible Fellowship, 2720 Kressler Road, Heidelberg on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. with the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. Burial at Hawkesville Cemetery, Hawkesville with a reception to follow at the church.
