Obituary of Vera Lucille Scheifele

Passed away at Innisfree House in Kitchener on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the age of 95.

Loving mother of Irene Jutzi (Robert) of New Hamburg and Wilson Cook (Joyce) of Wellesley. Devoted Grandmother of Christopher Cook, Shelly Faulhafer (Chris) and Katie Cook-Mayer (Jeff). Fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Olivia, Reese, Joshua, Isla and Aubree. She is survived by her step-children, Bernice Herrfort (Walt), Ron Kropf (Brenda), Dr. David Scheifele (Carolyn); step-children-in-law Teri Kropf and John Keupfer; 19 step-grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Ethel Yost.

Predeceased by husbands, Grant Cook, Clayton Kropf and Walton Scheifele; step-children, Kelsey Kuepfer, Shirley Hergott (Pat), Art Kropf, Bruce Kropf, and step-son-in-law, Allan Herrfort; grandson, Wilson Cook Jr.; brothers, Elroy Yost, Harry Yost (Evelyn) and Delford Yost (Helen); and sisters, Zerine Hammer (Gordon) and Mildred Gale (William).

Vera was a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She was a part of the ELW of St. John's, St. John's Sixty Plus Club, Silver Spoons at W-K United Mennonite Church, member of Hospital Auxiliary at Grand River Hospital, the Wellesley Women's Institute and the Rebekah's.

Friends are invited to share their memories of Vera with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Vera's life and faith will take place in the chapel of the funeral home on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 1 p.m., with Rev. Fred Ludolph officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Interment in Lisbon Cemetery, North Easthope Township.
