For me, and likely so many others, Joan was very inspirational in so many ways. Most memorably, she rarely had a negative thing to say about anybody. She focused on the positive always, and listened intently. You could count on her to care, and with her full attention. She touched everyone with her quiet, thoughtful, kind ways. Her focus was on her family and friends (including the children of her friends) and she gave her heart at work too. She always gave her whole heart ❤️. I was fortunate enough to be part of her Women's Group and her Camping Family. We enjoyed life to the fullest when we were together because Joan also knew how to have fun! She will be missed and she will continue to inspire me all the days of my life with her compassion for others. Much love for all who must move forward and bare this deep loss.

I was very saddened to learn today of Joan's passing. I so fondly recall the many years spent in Waterloo together in the 80's and 90's sharing wonderful times with Joan...whether we were at WAG meetings or arranging "play dates" for Jeffrey and Mitchell (and all the other kids born in the late 80's!). Joan, you always made so many people smile and laugh! Thank you for that. My condolences to you Bruce and to the kids. I am sure that Joan's spirit, infectious smile and laughter will live in your hearts forever. Sue Conrad (and Mitch, Sydney and Alex).

I have no words to describe the sense of loss I am feeling, now that one of my dearest, best friends is gone. In our circle, she was the kindest, gentlest, sweetest, strongest, most selfless and loving person I know. Her family was everything to her, and her incredibly strong and loving husband and three wonderful boys are testimony to her focus on family. Her giggles could set us all off, and her sense of humour, even as we fumbled through transfer attempts from car to wheelchair, made things easier for all of us. There are so many cherished memories, from our camping holidays, girls weekends away, WAG, and so many other times together, that will hold me up in the time ahead, as we all adjust to our lives without Joanie in it. And impossible as that may seem, all I can hope to do is carry forward, in some way, all the goodness that was Joan.
Bruce, Jeff, Kevin, and Scott, Joan's essence will always be a part of who you are and will shine through you.
With love, hugs and many tears,
Carol
