I have known my cousin Ernie for years because our MacKinnon cousins visited us frequently in Manitoba. At Camp Morton we kids carved our names and ages on a tree in the woods.
Ernie and I enjoyed visiting together at his Mom's in White Rock, also in Kitchener when he attended our Granddaughter, Jen Kean's, Graduation. I viewed his garden at that time and realized he had inherited the MacKinnon (or his Mother's?) love for flowers.
We mourn the loss of Ernie, but we have so many of his attributes to remember: his love of family and friends; his humility when we tried to learn all his accomplishments; the sincere interest in our children, and his smile, always accompanied by a sense of humour. Rest in Peace.
