Christine Rendall (nee McTaggart) passed peacefully at Freeport Hospital, February 15, 2024 at age 90 and 1/2. She was happily married to Dennis (passed 5 years ago) for over 60 loving years. She was a big wee sister to her wee big brother Stuart (Lorraine).  Loving and devoted mom to: Keith (Henny), Lynn (John) and Craig (Lynn). Proud grandmother of Scott (Emily), Sharlene (Cam), Shannon, and Blake and step grandmother to Sasha (Max) and Jesse (Cassandra).

Christine was well liked everywhere she went.  Whether it was on the tennis courts, at Probus meetings, at her bridge clubs, at Big Sisters, on the golf course or simply enjoying chats with the ladies who lived close to her, she made friends at every turn.  The nurses at Freeport said she was a delightful lady and so sweet.  The family is grateful for their care.

She was born in Edinburgh in 1933 and attended business college.  Before marriage, she loved working in the office at Edinburgh Rock Candy factory where she made excuses to walk through the factory as they were allowed to eat as much as they wanted.   Dennis and Christine married in 1958 and moved to Vancouver in 1959. Christine worked several office jobs before being asked to quit when she got pregnant.  In 1962 Keith was born in Vancouver, BC; in 1964 Lynn was born in Brandon, MB; and in 1967 Craig was born in Hamilton, ON, no more moves, no more kids.  She worked as a bookkeeper at the YMCA and Waterloo Printing after which, she worked part time at The Fashion Stop in Waterloo.  She enjoyed volunteering at the local theatre.

She cherished the time she spent with her family the most.  Christine loved having all the neighbourhood kids over to our house and maintained life-long relationships with many of those same children.

Cremation has taken place. Christine’s family invite relatives and friends to join them in a Celebration of Life at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, March 3 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow.
