Obituary of Edward Mason

Surrounded by his loving family, Ed passed away peacefully, at home, following a short, valiant battle with cancer at the age of 84. Survived by his beloved wife and soulmate of 29 years, Marie (nee Kienapple), his children, Christine and Ronald, Joanne and Barry, Andrew and Lisa, his grandchildren. Jennifer and Christopher, Kelly, Catherine and Michael, Natasha and Jeff, Amanda and Eric. Great grandchildren, Braiden, Stacia, Carter, Hudson, Sienna, Nehemiah, Sophia, Lillian, arriving soon Baby Weber. Ed will also be missed by his friends Ron and Joan Kelly of England. Also missed by his little dog "Missy". Predeceased by his first wife Catherine (Kit) nee Elkes in 1982 and parents Edward and Lily Mason. Born in Manchester England, Ed served with the Royal Air Force. He worked with Raytheon Canada until his retirement at the age of 60. Ed loved golf, was an avid model train enthusiast, member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus, St. Agatha Rod and Gun Club and members of St. Agatha RC Church and St. Teresa's RC Church, Kitchener. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ed with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Agatha RC Church, 1839 Notre Dame Drive, St. Agatha on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in St. Agatha RC Cemetery followed by a reception at the Parish Hall. Condolences for the family and donations to the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre and the St. Agatha RC Church building fund may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445.
