Obituary of William Orvis

Orvis, William J. (Bill) 1930-2012 Bill passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital. Loving husband of Arlene Orvis (nee Rettinger). Dearest father of Katherine (Fraser) Matheson and Nancy Orvis-Korn. Will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Nathan and Victoria Matheson, Ashlee and Alex Korn. Predeceased by his parents Annie and George Orvis; sisters Jean Loughlean, Velma Tavener, Hazel Taylor, and Mary Howson; brothers Ross and Jack Orvis. Bill was employed with Waterloo North Hydro for 29 years. He enjoyed woodworking, travel and reading. The Orvis family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from St. Agnes RC Church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Friends are invited to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home Fireside Reception Room following the burial at Parkview Cemetery.
