Obituary of Betty Jones

JONES, Betty Doreen May 15, 1925 - November 22, 2012 Passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington, Guelph, with family by her side. Betty was the beloved wife and best friend of Robert Jones. Betty and Bob celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary on October 10, 2012. She will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her four children and their spouses, David and Kathleen Jones (Cedar Point), Doug and Diane Jones (Waterloo), Elizabeth and Bob Felder (Pickering) and Barbara and Wally Reidl (Kitchener). Cherished Nanny of Lindsay Graham (Drew), Blair Jones (Laura), Ashley Koets (Dave), Scott Jones (Jane), Lisa Jones, Andrew Jones (Linley), Wayne Felder, Neil Felder and Courtney Jones. Great Nanny to McKenzie & Emily Graham and Myla & Eddie Jones. She was looking forward to welcoming another great grandson shortly. Predeceased by her parents, Norman and Betty Marsh, her sister and brother-in-law Kaye & Edward Scheider, her brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Bill & Mary Jones and Dorothy & Jack Jones. Betty worked for the Waterloo County Board of Education for 23 years as a school secretary at Rosemount Public School and at the Board Office. She volunteered at the KW Community Foundation, Walter McLean's and Liz Witmer's offices, was a Charter Member of the Women's Probus Club of Kitchener-Westmount, and knitted teddy bears for charities over the years. Betty had a wonderful life and enjoyed many lasting friendships that she and Bob shared along the way while living in Toronto, Regina, Kitchener, the Schoolhouse near Ayr, Waterloo and cottaging at Thunder Beach. She loved to entertain, travel, read, play bridge and always had a full social calendar! She was a generous and loving mother and grandmother who encouraged and supported her children and was proud of her family and all their accomplishments. Betty was a friend to many and her warm smile welcomed all! She will be remembered as a caring person who was always interested in and willing to help others. The family would like to thank Dr. Ross Kennel and his staff, Dr. V. Ho, Dr. R. Weinstein, Dr. A. Jahromi, CCAC and their care partners, and team members at St. Mary's Hospital and Hospice Wellington for their support and assistance. Visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo N2J 1P7 on Sunday, November 25 from 1-5 pm. A service to celebrate Betty's life will take place on Monday, December 3, 2012 at 1:30 pm at The Church of St. John the Evangelist, 23 Water St. N., Kitchener N2H 5A4. At Betty's request, cremation has taken place.
