Obituary of Gloria Price

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in her residence at The Village of Winston Park, Sunday Dec. 16, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 67 years, Fred (Oct. 7, 2012), her parents Melville and Pearl (Cameron) Nix, her brother Melville (Cook) Nix and her son Randy. Dedicated Mother to Cheryl (and Chris) Fleming, Rick (and Lina) Price, Deb Ziegler, Wendy (and Frank) Glanznig. Loving grandmother to Darren (and Susan) Fleming, Christy (and Ian) Gallaway, Jen Fleming, Katie (and Eric) Agyemang, Derick Price, Caitlyn Price, Matt Ziegler, Jenna Ziegler. Proud great mother of Emma and Connor Fleming and Jack, Cameron and Brynn Gallaway. Sister to Beverly (and George) Holmes and Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Gloria was an active member of the Kinette Club and had a successful career in Real Estate. She came from a musical family, loved dancing, had a beautiful singing voice and a true zest for life. She loved family and shared her joy with others. Our Christmas table always included friends who would have otherwise been alone and she could make turkey dinners magically materialize whenever surprise visitors showed up at the cottage. Gloria and Fred retired early and enjoyed retirement in Florida, Morningside (New Hamburg) and the cottage in Penetang until Fred became her full-time caregiver due to the early onset of Alzheimer's disease. Our special thanks to the wonderful, compassionate staff in the special care unit at the Village of Winston Park. They were truly extended family to our parents and we would like to thank them for the love and kindness shown to our entire family this last week. A memorial service will be held in the spring to celebrate Gloria's life, and will include the joint interment of Gloria and Fred at Parklawn Cemetery, Toronto. Cremation has taken place.
