Obituary of Michael Preidt
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the age of 86.
Born in Draas, Transylvania, Michael immigrated to Canada in 1949 where he met and married Elizabeth (nee Andres) in 1951. They settled in St. Agatha where they began farming and raised their family. Will be sadly missed by Robert (Christine) Preidt, Barbara (Robert) Ditner, Linda (David) Openshaw, and Millie Preidt. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Chad Preidt, Adam (Kristal) Preidt, Bradley Ditner, Trevor (Jennifer) Ditner, Luke Ditner, and Alyssa and Joshua Openshaw; great-grandchildren, Colban, Hannah, Brooklynn, Wesley, and Lily. Michael is also survived by his sister, Anna Gagesch of Germany.
Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Sarah (Stirner) Preidt and his sister, Sarah Lenner.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Michael with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room. Cremation will then take place with a private family interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
