Obituary of Mabel Karpuik

Mom passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Village of Winston Park, age 88 years. Lovingly remembered by her children Marilyn McNeilly of Calgary, Dorothy Girling of Kitchener, Pat Hilliard (Robert) of Bowmanville and Miriam Mansell (Trent) of Caledon. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren David, Richard, Lesley, Dawn, Jeffrey, Colin, Rob, Kevin, Stephen and Jason, also 13 great grandchildren. Survived by a brother Charles (Betty) Spackman, sisters Ethel Percell and Elsie Smeltzer as well as brothers-in-law Ivan (Elsie) McNeilly, Leonard (Bernice) McNeilly, Fred McNeilly and sister-in-law Mildred McNeilly. Predeceased by her first husband David McNeilly and her second husband Bill Karpuik, a brother Robert Spackman and a sister Dorothy McIver. Mabel was born in Park Extension, Montreal and moved to Kitchener 10 years ago and continued to be a lifelong member of the Salvation Army. Friends and relatives are invited to share memories of Mabel during visitation on Friday, February 22, 2013 at the Kitchener Community Church of the Salvation Army 75 Tillsley Dr., Kitchener from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at which time the service will take place in the Sanctuary. Major Brian Coles officiating, assisted by Major Ivan McNeilly. Cremation will follow at a later date with interment in Edmonton.
