Obituary of Enid Kirby

With sadness the family of Enid announce her passing after a long and courageous battle with cancer on March 27th, 2013 at Lisaard House, Cambridge. She is survived by her husband Jack of 60 years, whom is her life partner, business partner, social partner, best friend, first mate and Dancing with the Stars partner. Enid was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, professional artist whose forte was in painting, however embraced all of the arts, golfer extraordinaire, domestic engineer, gourmet cook, gardener, seamstress, speed skater, jogger, dog sledder, always prepared to tackle anything that came her way, vivacious smile and personality, caring, giving, loving and never ending supporter of our journey through life. Loving mother to Kimberlee Principato and husband Charlie of Ancaster, Jeffery and wife Sherrie of Wellesley, Ryan and wife Jill of Waterloo and Cleat of Waterloo. Grandmother of Katie, Christine, Evan, Lauren, Garrett, Peyton, Michael, Ashley and Matthew. Step-grandmother to Matthew, Amanda and Phillip. Enid is predeceased by her sisters Joan and Lois. Born July 18th, 1932 on her mother's birthday in Winnipeg, Manitoba to the late Everett and Anne (nee Wilson) McKinnon. Her journey through life led her to meet her husband Jack in Winnipeg where they were married in 1953. They had then transferred to Carmen and Brandon Manitoba, then Regina Saskatchewan, subsequently moving to Burlington, Ontario in 1967 and Waterloo in 1977 where they began their business together, Kirby International Trucks Ltd. Friends are invited to share their memories of Enid with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday April 3, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A private family funeral service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family and donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Lisaard House, Canadian Red Cross or charity of choice may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445.
