Obituary of Gary McMahon

Gary passed away at Grand River Hospital on Monday May 27, 2013 in his 66 year. He was surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Patricia (Patti) and father of Todd (Susanne), Sean (Jennifer) and step-father to Sheila (Steve). Dear grandpa of Keagan, Reilly, Kenzie and Olivia. Loved son of Doris McMahon (Runchey). Brother of Rose Hanley (Bernard), Hugh (Elaine), Lawrence (June), Clair, Ann McLeod (William), Michael (Maureen), Brian, Dorothy Evans (Charles), Francis Melchin (Dale), Thomas (Noreen), Colleen Rees (George). Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews and his buddy Princess. Predeceased by his father Lorne (1979), brothers Patrick (1962), Dennis (1949) and a sister Sharon in 1957. Gary worked for the City of Kitchener from September 1972 until his retirement in December 2004. He continued to work in his own little business as a Handy-man until he was unable to do so because of his illness. Gary was a long time member of the Mannheim Optimist Club and also the Waterloo Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing, travel, cards and dancing, but utmost to Gary, it was spending time with family. Family & friends will be received at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street S, Waterloo on Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers will be offered Wednesday (tonight) at 8:30 pm followed by the Waterloo Knights of Columbus service at 8:40 pm in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday May 30, 2013 at 10 am at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church at 305 Laurentian Drive in Kitchener. Burial will take place at Williamsburg Cemetery, 1541 Fisher-Hallman Street, Kitchener.
