Obituary of Mae Runstedler

Mae was born February 21, 1926. She died surrounded by her family on her daughter's 40th wedding anniversary June 30, 2013. Mae is lovingly remembered by her only daughter, Anne Fioravanti, her husband John of Waterloo and their family as well as the last living sibling Agnes Ellert who turned 99 this year. She will be sadly missed by her three very special grandchildren, Dianna Fioravanti (Stephene Ashikwe) and her daughter Alexis, Daniel (Kim Beaudreau) Fioravanti and their two children, Nicholas and Sophia, and Dominic (Katrina Clarke) Fioravanti. Mae will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews especially by her godchild Connie Voll. She was predeceased by her husband Hubert Runstedler, her dear sister Bernadette, her sister Dolores Berges of Stratford and her brother Patrick as well as her parents, Joseph Ellert and Mary Ellert (nee Reitzel). She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and the Catholic Women's League for over 60 years. She was also a devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Choir until retirement. Mae worked at Equitable Life for many years. After retirement she enjoyed doing needlepoint, dancing, crocheting and reading. She loved music, keeping in touch with all her family. Her constant caring and concern for all of us will always keep us in touch. She loved parties and having a good time with her friends and family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Mae with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. The memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Private family interment Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Condolences for the family and donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Grand River Hospital Foundation - Freeport, may be arranged through the funeral home at www.erbgood.com or 519.745.8445. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital who delivered great care to Mae in her final days.
