Obituary of Walter Cotton

Passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital surrounded by family on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at the age of 94 years. Walter was reunited with his wife, Bessie Cotton of 69 years. He will be missed by his four children, Carol Kocznur (Ted), Shirley Crawford (Morley predeceased), Jerry, Constance Stewart (Robert). Loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren, also survived by two sisters Dorothy and Bonnie. Predeceased by his grandson, Scott Stewart, and brothers Leo and Len, sister Ruby. Walter had many accomplishments. At 21, Walter served with pride as a Sergeant with the Royal Canadian Regiment . He was an instructor for 3 years in Camp Borden, then went to Italy where he fought on the front lines for 1 and half years. He enjoyed building beautiful homes while operating W.Cotton Home Builders for many years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Walter with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday from 7- 9 p.m. and again Saturday from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday July 6, 2013 at 1:30pm . Interment to follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
