Wilhelmina Gordon

Obituary of Wilhelmina Gordon

Passed away peacefully on Monday July 8, 2013 at the Lisaard House in Cambridge at the age of 93. Miem lived a full life, surviving the 2nd World War in her native Holland; moving to Canada as a war-bride with her one true love Jack. She raised her family starting in Vermillion Bay, then Harriston, Waterloo, Hamilton and Oshawa before retiring with Jack to Waterloo. She experienced an interesting and rewarding career, first as a housewife then as a technician in many different hospitals. Mom tirelessly cared for Dad during his lengthy illness and volunteered with the Ladies Auxillary, Branch #530, Waterloo Legion until well into her 80's. Devoted to her family, she is survived by her sons John (Pam), Paul (Tina), Lorne and daughter Anne (Paul Gutauskis). She will be fondly remembered by her 16 grandchildren Brett (Sarah) Corlett, Stephanie (Jarrod Littlejohn), Sam (Andrea), Jeremy (Charlene), Kelly (Frank) Fraser, Sherri Lee (Mike) Mckafes, Angela, Jennifer (Jessie) Wansborough, Steven, Nick (Johanna) Pearson, Terry (Brit) Pearson, Amanda Gutauskis, Kevin (Cassie) Gutauskis, Mark Gutauskis, Angelina and Nikolas, and her 17 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Gerhard and Johanna Kellendonk of Holland, her husband Jack and daughter Geraldine, sisters Nollie and Theres and brothers Piet and Hank. Aunt Miem will be sadly missed by her extended family of nieces and nephews and their families including the "Cushing Girls", the Halls, the Mcguintys and the entire Kellendonk family in Canada and Holland. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mom's good friends who visited regularly and the nurses, staff and the volunteers at the Conestogo Lodge Retirement Home and the Lisaard House Hospice. Friends are invited to share their memories of Miem with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday July 10 2013 in the evening from 7-9 pm and Thursday July 11, 2013 from 12-1:15 pm.
