Obituary of Harold Esbaugh

As he lived, Harold died, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre in the evening of Sunday, September 8th, 2013, from lung cancer. He was 81 years old. Predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey Haffner, on September 2nd, 1995. Respected father of Ron and Shelley, and Rick and Barb of St. Clements. He will be forever admired and loved by his grandchildren, Wes (Mallory), Ashlin, Kailey, Cassie, Nick, Meagan and Mitchell. Greatly missed by his special friend Betty Choma. Harold will be remembered by his sisters Mary Dietrich (Bob), Terry Beaupre (Ken), and Betty Phillips (Harry). Predeceased by his siblings Jerome Esbaugh (Thelma), Clare Esbaugh (Helen), Joseph Esbaugh (Theresa), Rosemary Kraemer (Lloyd), and Marcie Kellog (Laverne). Harold started his career as a contractor in the early 1950s with his wife Audrey establishing H.E. Esbaugh Const. Ltd. He eventually went on to start Tri City Readymix Ltd. and retired from both in 1995. Harold was known for helping people one way or another to start their way in life. Harold was a proud member of the Paradise and District Lion's Club for many years, also serving on the building and cemetery maintenance committee for St. Clements Roman Catholic Church. Harold loved to fish, hunt, and loved a good game of cards with his friends. He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved socializing with his friends. He loved spending time at the cottage with his family and friends, boating, snowmobiling and having a glass of scotch on the deck. He will be greatly missed by all! Friends are invited to share their memories of Harold with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be offered at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Clements R.C. Church 3619 Lobsinger Line, St Clements on Thursday September 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. with Fr. Martin Mikulski S.A.C.as Celebrant. Interment to follow at St. Clement's Cemetery. Reception to follow in the St. Clements Community Centre.
