Obituary of Doris Hill

Passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at St. Mary's General Hospital at the age of 89. Beloved wife of Leo (Red) Hill for 50 years. Loving mother of Jeannette Lamont (Ian) and Gary (Sherry) Ottman. Fondly remembered by her two granddaughters, Colleen and Heather. Sister of Donald Poll and his wife Mary Belle. Predeceased by her parents Charles and Dorcas Poll. She was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and participated in many volunteer activities throughout the years. Doris was employed by the Waterloo County Board of Education for 21 years and the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation for four years. She loved golfing and had been a member of Beaverdale Golf Club and Rockway Golf Club. Doris volunteered for the Senior Day Program at Victoria Senior Centre for many years. The family will receive friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Ave., Kitchener on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 10 - 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Roland Syens and Rev. Roger Winger officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
