Obituary of Grace Haus

HAUS, Grace Catherine (Kaye) Passed away peacefully at her residence, Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, January 27, 2016 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Harry James Haus (2006). Loving mother of Steven and Joyce Haus, Susan and Rev. James Neal, Mary Kay and David Ramer, David and Mary Haus and Murray and Jan Haus. Grace is lovingly remembered by 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and by her brother William Palmer and his wife Jane. Predeceased by her parents Frederick and Margaret (Thomas) Pollakowski. Grace was a charter member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church and in her younger years was a Sunday school teacher, Confirmation leader and an active member of the Quilters group contributing many hours to creating quilts for relief projects. She was active in community activities serving as Cub Scout leader Baloo and working with handicapped children in the community. Kaye loved to knit and made beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren. Kaye and Harry were graceful dance partners and travel companions to many countries of the world. Our family wishes to thank the staff of Columbia Forest LTCC for their care and compassionate service to our mother during her residency. Cremation has taken place with interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo. A Memorial Service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 3:00 pm. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
