Obituary of Cecil Smith

It is with sadness that the family of Cecil mourns his peaceful passing on Thursday, February 25, 2016. Born in Listowel on December 31, 1926 he was predeceased by his eight older siblings and parents Fred and Isabela Smith of Listowel. He was an avid hockey player in his youth, and excelled playing goal. Cecil was a veteran of the Second World War. He was a long time employee driving truck for Listowel Transport Lines until his retirement. . Cecil was predeceased by Florella (Seiler) his wife of more than 60 years. He was the devoted father of Sandra Thomson and her husband Andrew of Parry Sound, Judy Lennox of Kitchener, Steven and his wife Mary of Stratford, and Jeff and his wife Sue of Cambridge. Cecil was the beloved grandfather of Heather (Thomson) Watters, David Thomson, Philip Thomson, Mary (Thomson) Youngs, and Charles Thomson and great grandpa of Emmet and Gareth; Brendan, Lindsay and Steven; and Jude and Dylan. He will be fondly remembered by members of the Presbyterian Church, his many friends and extended family. At dad's request cremation has taken place and a private service held.
