Obituary of Beverly Arnold
Bev passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016 at The Village of Taunton Mills, Whitby, Ontario at the age of 90.
Bev was born in St. Catharines December 12, 1925. She is the eldest daughter of the late late Gladys and Allan Shurly. The family moved to Elmira at the beginning of her high school years when she met E. John Arnold. Bev graduated from The University of Toronto with an English major and Gamma Phi Beta Sorority Sister. After University Bev worked for Simplicity Patterns before settling down and raising her family. Bev and John were married on September 8, 1951. John's career took them to Shawinigan, QC, Fonthill, Sarnia and Bev's beloved home in Etobicoke, ON.
Bev has now been reunited with her loving and devoted husband Edward John Arnold (2011).
Bev will be sadly missed by her family; mother of Tim Arnold and his wife Laurie of PEI, Sue and her husband Brian Shibley of Dallas, TX, and Shurly Arnold of Brooklin, ON; loving grandmother to Jennifer Arnold and Neal Harker of Calgary, AB, Stephanie Arnold and Nathan Albright of Cornwall, PEI, Trevor and Megan Shibley of Montgomery, TX, and Andrea and Martin Paul of Dallas, Texas; doting great-grandmother to Micaela and Tristyn Shibley, Holden and Charlie Harker, Carson and Collin Paul, and Ashtyn Albright.
Bev is remembered by brother-in-law Tom Wilcox of Burlington, ON. and predeceased by her sister Jane Wilcox of Burlington.
The Arnold Family will receive family and friends Tuesday, March 29, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m., at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo (enter off of Caroline Street), with prayers recited at 8:30 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church, 173 Lourdes St., Waterloo with Rev. Edward Hughes as Celebrant. Following the mass a luncheon reception will take place in the church hall. Cremation will follow with a private family interment in St. Teresa RC Cemetery, Elmira.
