Obituary of Joseph Morin

On March 21, 2016, Joseph Eugene (Ben) Morin passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario. He was 92. Ben was born in Timmins, Ontario on September 17, 1923. He was the last surviving child born to Joseph Eugene Morin and Amanda Blanchette. He was predeceased by sisters, Lucy Hardy, Gabrielle Ennis, Desneige Walter and brothers, Lucien, Rolland, Henry, and Charles. After his mother's death, Ben and his father moved to the Kitchener/Waterloo area (approximately 1960) where he resided until his death. Ben worked for the Engineering firm of Walter-Fedy until his retirement in approximately 1985. Ben is survived by many nieces and nephews who have fond memories of the times they were in his company. He will be fondly remembered for his love of the cinema, especially films from the 1930's. He had a remarkable memory for facts associated with this era of great movies. He enjoyed the symphony and the theatre. When he was younger, he was a prodigious traveler. He went to Europe and the United Kingdom several times. He also travelled to Australia and New Zealand. He took many trips to Western Canada and the United States. Among his favourite places to visit were Banff and Lake Louise. For almost two years, he resided comfortably at Lanark Place in Kitchener, Ontario. His remains will be buried alongside his mother in Timmins, Ontario.
