Obituary of Margaret Dettmer
Peggy passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family at Winston Park Long Term Care on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at the age of 58 after fighting a brave battle against Alzheimer's disease.
She was the most loving mother of Erin Somerville. She will be sadly missed by her sisters Wendi (John) Schwindt, and Sue (Dan) Gremm. Favourite niece of Ruth Dettmer, special niece to Bob (Karen) Loebsack, and cousin to Christopher and Jenny. Beloved aunt to David (Marcie) Schwindt, Mike (Jill) Schwindt, Sara (Brent) King, and Anna (Trevor) Wilson. Special great-aunt to Olivia Gremm-Johnston, Danny Gremm and Harrison King, Meghan Schwindt, and Isabelle Schwindt. She was adored by so many friends. Fondly remembered by Brian and the Somerville family.
Predeceased by her parents Wilf and Audrey (nee Loebsack) Dettmer.
Peggy was a devoted mother who loved to spend time with family and friends at the family cottage at Muldrew Lake. Her love of life, positive attitude, and sense of humour shone through right to the end and was felt by so many who loved her.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the nurses and PSWs at Winston Park Assisted Care and Long Term Care for their kindness, compassion, and tender care extended to Peggy over the past four years.
Her heart and the memories she left behind will live on and family and friends are invited to join Peggy's family in sharing those memories. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Peggy's life will be held at St. Peters Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2925 Lobsinger Line, Heidelberg on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
