Obituary of Dorothy Gravel

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Lisaard House in Cambridge on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at the age of 80. Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years, John Gravel on December 28, 2012. Loving mother of Peter (Andrea) and Kathy and much loved Nanny of Brent and Marina. Dorothy is survived by her sister Mary Dimitri, niece Lesley Wright and nephew David McIntyre. Predeceased by her parents, Charles and Johanna Murphy. Dorothy held various secretarial positions in advertising agencies in Montreal and then, moving to Scarborough, worked for the Town of Markham helping with the opening of the Markham Theatre. She retired from the theatre and moved to Waterloo with John to be with her beloved grandchildren. Dorothy's family will receive friends at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 1:00 - 1:40 p.m, followed by a funeral mass at 1:45 p.m. with Rev. Aleksander Mazur as celebrant. A reception will immediately follow the mass in the lower auditorium of the church. Following cremation, a private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
