<h1>Norene Steinman</h1> (nee Block) April 12, 1922 – September 4, 2010. “A Mother holds her children’s hands for a while … their hearts forever.” Passed away peacefully in her 88th year at home surrounded by her loving family, predeceased by Roy Steinman. Norene will be sadly missed by her family, sisters, and many friends. Norene leaves her four children, Nancy (Peter) Barrington, Carol (Bill) Steinman, Dan (Barbara) Steinman, and Sally (Don) Metzger; six grandchildren - Ahren, Andrea, Patrick, Natalie, Emma and Jacob, and her two great grandchildren, Alex and Paige. She will also be fondly remembered by her three surviving “Block” sisters - Mary Belle Poll, Betty Aberhardt, and Sharon Wideman - and by her dear friends at the Queen-Margaret Apartment Buildings. Norene was an active member of the Queen-Margaret Tenants Association and Bridge Club, a former Dairy Queen manager, and founder of the Pioneer Ice Cream Shoppe at Sportsworld. At Norene’s request, she will rest in peace at the Williamsburg Scattering Garden, close to her birthplace in Shingletown, Wilmot Township. Please join us in celebrating Norene’s life at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, September 12, 2010.
