<h1>Cony DeFrancesco</h1> Passed away, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the age of 73. Cony endured ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease) for two years with dignity and bravery. Loving husband of Frances for 47 years. Cherished father of David (Heather), Teresa, and Donald (Kelly). Dear grandpa of Chantal, Kristen, Jacob, Nicholas, Olivia, Jonathan, Joshua, Andrew and Shara. Survived by his brother, Joe (Margaret) and sister-in-law, Nina. Predeceased by his parents, Pantaleone and Rosa and his brother, Angelo. Cony came to Canada from Italy when he was 18 years old. He came with a dream and he accomplished that in many ways. Cony started his own business – Tosca Tile, started his family, and was a founding member of the Italian Cortina Club where he was very dedicated to all of their accomplishments. When he retired, he spent the winters in Arizona playing his favourite sport – Bocce Ball – with his ever-growing circle of friends. He also discovered his artistic ability in creating marble masterpieces. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, September 7 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with parish prayers at 8:30 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony Daniel RC Church, 29 Midland Dr., Kitchener on Monday, September 8, 2008 at 9:30 a.m., with Rev. Earl Talbot as celebrant. Private family interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow the mass at the St. Anthony Daniel Parish Centre. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the ALS Society of Ontario or the Grand River Hospital Foundation, Freeport Health Centre (Palliative Care Unit).
