Gently slipped her earthly bonds in the presence of family on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at the Village of Winston Park, Nursing Home just after celebrating her 82nd birthday.
First, last and best wife of Dr. John B. Tallon (2002). Treasured mother of Michael (Christina ), John (Katherine), Kathleen (Brent), Peter, Stephen (Nancy) and James. Proud and devoted grandmother of Patrick, Alanna (1986), Gregory, Brendan, Benjamin, Corinne, Emily, Brianna, Kathleen, Chloe and Jacob. Survived by her sisters Marchetta, Wilhelmina and June Marie and her brother Ashley. Predeceased by her parents James (1947) and Cecilia (1979) Murray of Cross Point, Quebec and her sister Aloysious (1977).
Lorraine completed her early education at Dalhousie Convent School and received her R.N. degree from St. Josephs School of Nursing at Hotél Dieu Hospital, New Brunswick in 1948. In addition to private duty nursing, Lorraine also worked at Veterans Hospital in Ste. Anne dBell Vue and at Reddy Memorial Hospital in Montreal, Quebec. Lorraine and John started their family in Boston, Massachusetts while John completed a residency in Orthopaedics at Massachusetts General Hospital. They settled in Kitchener, Ontario in 1959. Lorraine attended Business College in the 1970s and managed Johns medical practice until their retirement in 1996.
Cremation and a private family service have taken place.
