<h1>Henry Klawitter</h1> 1918 – 2008 Born January 25, 1918. Passed away at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo, on Monday, September 29, 2008, at age 90. Henry will be dearly missed by his beloved wife Joyce (nee Birmingham) of 44 years. Cherished father to Randy (Denise) Klawitter of Kitchener, Karen (Bud) Helwig of Elmira and Jeff (Jenn) Klawitter of Kitchener. Dear grandfather to Brad (Merna), Stacey (Daryl), Cindy, Sherri (Kevin), Andrew, Amanda and Cory. Great-grandfather of Alexander, Madison and Taggart. Survived by his brother Jack (Nonie) Klawitter of Whitby, Ontario. Brother-in-law to Mary and Larry Blaskavitch, Georgina Becker, and Floyd and Faye Birmingham. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Otto and Martha Klawitter (nee Nitschke) and brothers, Adolph, Herman and Wilfred. Henry was born in Pembroke, Ontario. He resided in the Kirkland Lake area for many years where he worked in the gold mining industry as a machinist. In 1949, with his family, he relocated to Waterloo. His initial employment was as a master mechanic at Sunshine Waterloo Company. In 1953 he moved to Mutual Life (Sunlife) as maintenance supervisor. He retired in 1982, from Mutual Life, after 30 years of service. Henry was a member of the K-W Electric Club, Canadian Institute of Power Engineers, Mutual Life Long Service Club and the Pan Polity Organization. A special thank you is extended by the family to the staff of Pinehaven Nursing Home and to Dr. Pope for all their tender loving care. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to share their memories of Henry with his family at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Saturday October 4, 2008 from 11 am till 12 noon followed by a memorial service celebrating Henry’s life in the Funeral Home Chapel, the Rev. Richard Hawley officiating. Following the service all are invited to remain for a reception in the Funeral Home’s Fireside Reception Room. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. In lieu of flowers, condolences for the family may be made through donations to the Heart and Stoke Foundation, Alzheimer Society or to a charity of your choice.
