Passed away in Newmarket, Ontario on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at the age of 88. She enjoyed a long, happy and productive life spent in various parts of Ontario, Quebec and Australia. She and her husband Donald travelled whenever they could throughout the world.
Margaret was born on July 6, 1918 on a farm in southwestern Ontario near Highgate, the last of the nine children born to Wallace and Elizabeth Crawford. She was predeceased by her parents, siblings and husband Donald L. Bornhold.
Margaret attended elementary and secondary schools in Kent County and graduated from Stratford Normal School (Teachers College) where she met her future husband, Donald Bornhold. For over twenty years she was a teacher and teacher-librarian in various rural and urban schools, including J.F. Carmichael School in Kitchener, where Donald also taught. Margaret and Don were married on July 4, 1942 and enjoyed more than sixty happy years together.
Margaret is survived by her son Brian, her daughter Linda Klym and husband Jerry, and by three grandchildren, Cheryl Klym-Edwards and husband Dale, Beth Pechter and husband David, and David Bornhold.
We would like to thank those who provided comfort and assistance to Margaret in her final months. In particular, the staff at Rouge Valley Retirement Residence in Markham, Community Care Access Centre of York Region and the Oncology and Palliative Care staff at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket.
Cremation has taken place with interment later in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener. Friends are invited to share their memories of Margaret with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Saturday, October 7, 2006 at 10:30 am. A memorial service to celebrate Margarets life will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am. Reception to follow.

In living memory of Margaret, a tree will be planted by the funeral home through the Trees for Learning Program.
