A beautiful lady both inside and out, and one well be loving Always!
On Saturday September 25th at Lisaard House, Dee slipped away peacefully to her heavenly home at the age of 89. Born in Severn Bridge, Ontario, daughter of the late George Daniel and Ethel Elizabeth Smith (nee Middleton).
Married to the love of her life James (Bud) McClennan March 31, 1945 while they were both serving in the Navy at HMCS Cornwallis, N.S. Darlene was a proud veteran, serving her country as a Nursing Sister during WWII.
Dee moved to the Waterloo area following the death of her husband, Bud in 1971. She was an active member of the community working as a Supervisor for the Red Cross Homemakers Service until retirement.
Dee was a member of Emmanuel United Church, Hardy Hearts and the K-W Naval Association.
An adventurous, fun-loving lady, Dee travelled the world, loved to entertain, go on Outings and watch Toronto Blue Jays games.
She will be greatly missed by many family members and friends. Dee is survived by her son Bruce (Carol) McClennan, and her daughter Margie (Ken) Lamendeau. Also survived by her grandchildren, Sarah McClennan (Dan Ayerst), and Scott (Tracy) McClennan.
Also survived by her great-grandchildren, Michael and Patrick Ayerst; her sister Opal Armstrong; sister-in-law Doreen Smith and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers, Hilton (Florence) Smith, Gilbert (Olive) Smith, Ted (Marion) Smith and by her sister Elva (Lorne) Cox and brother-in-law Harold Armstrong.

Friends and family are encouraged to visit the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo, Ontario on Thursday, September 30, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. with funeral service to follow on Friday, October 1 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
