<h1>Mary Marchant</h1> (nee Mitchell) 1930 – 2007 Passed away, peacefully, after a long and courageous battle against cancer on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, in her 78th year. Mary was born in Irvine, Scotland and made her home in Kitchener-Waterloo with her family since July, 1966. Predeceased by her husband, Frederick Marchant. She will be sadly missed by her children, Malcolm, Christopher (Dana), Karen (Martin) and Denise. Proud and loving Nana to Brian and Scott Marchant, Vito Jr. and Cory Caggiano and Brandon and Ian Schell. She is survived by her sister Kay Matthews, her brother David Mitchell and his wife, Mary’s best friend, Doreen, her sister-in-law Mary Marchant, many beloved nieces and nephews, and many cherished friends. Waiting in heaven to embrace her are her parents, John and Maud Mitchell (nee Lomer), her husband Freddie, her son Kenneth, and her brother Joseph. Mary retired in 1995 as a “Commissary Mum” of Village I at the University of Waterloo. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Woman’s Retirees and a longtime, faithful member of St. Louis RC Church. Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories of Mary during visitation at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South in Waterloo, on Thursday, September 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A morning prayer service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, September 28, 2007 at 9:30 am, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen Street East, at 10 am, Friday, with Rev. Bernie Hayes, C.R. as celebrant. Interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
