Passed away at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre, on Wednesday, September 19, 2007, age 91 years.
Beloved husband of Mary Elizabeth Hougham (nee Hanna) of 64 years. Loving father of George (Mary), Ted (Shannon), Bruce (Sharon) and Arnold (Lynn). Grandfather of Anne (Sean), Brian (Stephanie), Day (Nicole), Jia, Gregory and Neal. Great-grandfather of Sophie and Max. Also survived by his sister Gladys of Vancouver.
He was predeceased by his parents, George and Bessie and by his brother, George.
Walter was an Educator from 1945-1981. He was the first Superintendent of Educational Services from 1969-1981 for the city of Waterloo.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Walter with his family during a service of remembrance at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 12 noon. Cremation has taken place. Reception will immediately follow in the Historic Kuntz House of the funeral home.
