Obituary of Rose Marie Metzger

<h1>Rose Marie Metzger</h1> Went to be with her Lord, peacefully on September 18, 2008 while on vacation in Nipigon. Dear wife of Vernon Metzger of Heidelberg. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, Donna Mayer (Leonard), Douglas Metzger (Debbie), Murray Metzger, Lorraine Brohman (Doug), Dale Metzger, Darryl Metzger and Jacqueline Girard (Maurice). Grandma Rose will be sadly missed by 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Harold Bretz and many nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by Francis and Rodger Shulist and their families. Predeceased by her parents, Philip Bretz and Emma (nee Martin), and nephew, Brian Bretz. Rose Marie served as a legal secretary for Haney, Haney, and Kendall. She was a dedicated and active member for many years at Grace Lutheran Church and, in later years, Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church. Rose Marie was friendly, outgoing and always concerned with the well being of others, rather than her own. In keeping with her generous nature she enjoyed organizing social events for her family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Erb &amp; Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday from 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at Stirling Avenue Mennonite Church, 57 Stirling Ave. N., Kitchener on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at 11 a.m. Interment in St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church hall. Donations in Rose Marie’s memory may be made to Mennonite Central Committee and can be arranged through the funeral home, www.erbgood.com or 519-745-8445. In living memory of Rose Marie, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.
