Passed away suddenly at the University Hospital, Edmonton after a long-standing battle with auto-immune liver disease on Monday, September 15, 2008, at age 33.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Douglas Gilchrist, her sister Janet Embury and her parents David and Diana Embury. Beloved by all, Nancy will also be sadly missed by her grandmothers, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Nancy received an Honours degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Middle Eastern Archaeology and Anthropology and also graduated from Sir Sanford Fleming Community College in Gallery and Museum Management. She had a strong work ethic and was always willing to help those around her.
Nancy was a strong supporter of the Anglican Church and regularly attended services in the local parish wherever she lived. She loved music and beginning with her junior choir days at Holy Saviour, she always sought to participate in her churches choral music programs.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Nancy with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday September 21 from 2-4 pm. and 7-9 pm. Her life will be celebrated in a funeral service to be held at Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo on Monday, September 22 at 1:30 pm. with the Venerable Peter T. Townshend officiating. A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall of the church. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Belleville Ontario on Tuesday, September 23 at 2:00 pm.
