<h1>Peter von Harpe</h1> Peter von Harpe 1915 – 2010 *Tallinn (Reval), Estonia † Kitchener, ON Remembering with thanksgiving and love, Peter, the patriarch of our family are: Edith Klanert; Anneliese &amp; John Knegt, Gerhard von Harpe, Henriette (Rita) &amp; Jake Stumper; Margie &amp; Jim Noszenko, Julie Knegt, Jennifer &amp; Chris Levy, Katherine &amp; Ron Cook; and Laura, Jonathan, Peter, Clara, James &amp; Kaitlyn; Ellinor Baroness von Maydell and Heidy &amp; Dietrich von Wahl. Predeceased by: his parents Rudolph vH &amp; Harriet von Bremen, his wife Ulrike von zur Mühlen, his siblings Egon vH, Marianne Baroness von Maydell and Natalie Baumann. September 25, 2010 11:00 AM at Mount Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 29 Westmount Rd., S., Waterloo, Ont.; Pastor Krister Ulmanis officiating with a reception to follow at the church. After an idyllic childhood, Peter and family were forced from their homeland at the beginning of WWII and resettled in Polish territory. He was drafted into the German Wehrmacht, a POW in Russia for 5 years and emigrated to Canada in 1951. With Ulli he farmed near Bamberg, successfully built up and managed Hergott's Plastics Ltd until his retirement in 1980. Thereafter he was volunteering for many social services. Peter was in many leadership positions within the church, the German-Baltic and other communities. He enjoyed his family and friends, his home and cottage, his extensive travels and worldwide correspondence until his last days prior to his death on September 13, 2010. He will be remembered for his infectious smile and laughter, his uplifting disposition to life however tragic or delightful, his dynamic story-telling and charming hospitality.
