<h1>Anna Bartesch</h1> 1927 – 2008 It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Anna Bartesch (nee Gross). Anna passed away in Chicago on Saturday, September 13, 2008, while visiting with her family. Anna was blessed to pass with her dear family by her side. Anna was born in Felldorf, Transylvania on September 10, 1927. She is survived by her loving children, Anne Bresnen, Heinz Bartesch and Martin (Kelly) Bartesch. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Amy, Aron, Eric, Nick, Peter, Brigette and Connor; sister Sara (Peter) Orendi of Kitchener and brother Thomas Gross of Austria and many nieces and nephews. Anna will also be fondly remembered by her two very dear friends, Kathie Benki and Christine Lang. Predeceased by her loving husband Martin (1989); parents Thomas Gross (1936) and Katharina (Fritsch - 1985); brother Georg Gross (during WWll) and sister Katharina Kutscher (Germany - 2005). Anna lived in Austria and Chicago USA before emigrating to Canada in 1990. She was very devoted to her family and they were a very important part of her life. Anna had a large circle of friends and will be fondly remembered as a very caring person who was always there to help. She was a faithful member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a proud member of the Transylvania Club. A funeral service will be held in Chicago followed by cremation. Anna will be buried beside her husband Martin at St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery, Kitchener. A service to celebrate Anna’s life and faith will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Kitchener on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow at the Church.
