James Clare St. James

Obituary of James St. Clare St. James

Clare St. James
1928 – 2006 Clare passed away at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Thursday, September 13, 2006 at the age of 78 years. Clare was born in Iroquois Falls, ON in 1928 into a large family. After her husband Frank St. James died in 1972, the long winters grew tedious. She came to the Kitchener/Waterloo area in 1979 to babysit her oldest grandson and has been here ever since. Clare has been affectionately known as ‘Nan’ by her grandchildren and many other children that she cared for over the years. While she settled happily here, she always looked forward to returning north each August to visit her family, and stock up on blueberries. Clare will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Deb Collins, Deb’s husband Mike, and their children, Brendan, Sean, and Erin to whom she was devoted. She will also be greatly missed by her friend, Ryley, who spent many happy days with Nan. She will also be greatly missed by her brothers Stan, John (Pat), Melvin (Marilyn), Ron (Claudette), and Larry Chircoski, and sister Joyce Bown. She was predeceased by her husband Frank, her brother Norman, and her sister Edwina. Friends are invited to share their memories of Clare with her family at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Sunday, September 17, 2006 from 1:00 pm to 2:45 pm. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home followed by a reception in the funeral home's Historic Kuntz House. A memorial visitation will be held at the Irvine & Irvine Funeral Home, 641 De Troyes Avenue, Iroquois Falls, Ontario on Wednesday, September 20, 2006 from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm.
