Passed away suddenly at home, on Friday, September 12, 2008, at the age of 77 years.
Helen is survived by her beloved children, Scott (Camille) Attridge, James (Linda) Attridge, Kathy (Rob) Giles, and Andrew (Krista) Attridge. She will be forever remembered as Nana to her cherished grandchildren, Brent and Heather Attridge, Ryan, Jaydon and Jasmine Attridge, and Keidon and Tanner Giles. Helen is also survived by her brother, Bruce (Marion) Denstedt and her sister, Jean (Earl) Toman. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Eldon, and her parents, Alfred and Freida Denstedt (Yundt).
Helen was born in the village of Milverton in Perth County, where she began a lifelong friendship with her husband, Eldon. Helen and Eldon were married in 1953, moved first to London and then settled in Waterloo. She taught at Empire Public school before beginning to raise her children. Helen lived in her current residence since 1956 developing life long relationships and memories of family, friends, church, travel and community activities. Helen will be remembered by those whose lives she touched, as her relationships with others were what she most highly valued and cherished. Helen was a committed and faithful member of Holy Saviour Anglican Church for 52 years, where her Christian life reflected in her love and concern for everyone. She will always be remembered for her gentle, loving, caring ways. She was an active member of the Probus Club of Kitchener-Waterloo.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Helen with her family during memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday, September 18, 2008, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The Memorial Service to celebrate her life and faith will be held at Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo on Friday, September 19, at 12 noon with the Venerable Peter T. Townshend officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service in the Parish Hall of the church.
